| Administrative History | The Manor of Loxley was sold to William Underhill of Idlicote in 1568. In 1640 it was settled onto Sir Simon Clarke of Broom Court who settled it on his daughter Elizabeth, and her husband Mark Parker, in 1640. From the Parkers it was conveyed to Edward Nash in 1665, and from him to his son-in-law Sir Reginald Forster of Greenwich. Forster's daughter Jane married Franklyn Miller of Hyde Hall, Herts, and their daughter Jane married William Norcliffe of the Inner Temple. When their only son died in 1740, Jane Norcliffe's heir was Edeward Mundy of Shipley, who had married her neice, Hester Miller. Through this means Edward and Hester's son, Edward Miller Mundy I, became lord of the manor of Loxley. The manor was sold to Leonard Court of Shottery in 1777. |
