Bradwell Church of England School
Administrative History
Bradwell Church of England School was founded in 1872 as Bradwell Board School, welcoming 30 girls and 41 boys on its first day. In 1875, the School Board decided that the Infants School should be run as a separate department. After the 1902 Education Act, the school became Bradwell Council School and its centenary commemorated by the issue of a first-day postal cover.
Custodial History
The centenary first day cover was accessioned in January 2000. The remainder of the collection was transferred in February 2022.
