Description1.Thurs. Nov. 20 1301 Grant from William de Thurleby, Rector of the church of Sceldinghoppe, to Stephen le Eyr of Cesterfeld, of land with a toft, a croft, houses and buildings, woods, meadows and pastures, with stone-quarries and other appurtenances in the territory of Barleburg’ and Wytwelle, formerly held by Robert son of Adam de Grideling.
Wit. - Dom. Walter de Gousul and Dom. Roger le Brette, knights; John de Eyncourt, William Brette, Roger Breton, Robert de Rybus, Henry le parmunter of Wytwelle Salamon at the town head of the same, Roger de Blyde cleric.

2. Thurs. before July 20 1331 Grant from Thomas de Goushill to Nicholas de Longeford of his purparty of the advowson of the church of Barleburgh.
Wit. – Hugh de Meignel, John de Twyford, Edward de Chaundes, Robert Ingram, knights; Ralph de Mountieye, Richard de Pomtefrett, Richard de la Lowe of Ethelaxton, cleric. Dated at Derby.

3. Mon. after Pent., 1340 Grant from Robert son of Robert Teillour of Elmeton to Walter Baily of the same, of all lands and holdings with wood in the will and territory of Elmeton, which he inherited on the death of his father.
Wit. - John Sauage of Schardeclif, John de Walley, Adam de Bolton of Cressewell, John Schereman of the same, Richard Walot of Elmeton, John de Birley cleric.

4. Mon. before June 11 1369 Grant from Egidius de Publey of Barlesburgh to William del Thwayt of the same, of a plot of meadow in Barleburgh called le Grescroft, with one selion in the town meadow abutting of it; with 5 ½ a. and ½ a rood of land in diverse parts; of which ½ a. lies in Lemedowlonges, ½ in Grimberdale, ½ abuts on Grimberbrok between land of Nicholas Dayhesheghe and of William Cotrell; 1 r. abuts on Grimberbrok and Hottowmedow in the West Field; 1 a. 1 r. lie at Lebeldram beside the rector’s land, ½ a. beside the rector’s land in the North Field; ½ r. abuts on land of Peter son of Egidius and 1 r. lies at Cokeswell beside Stotker in the East Field; 1 r. lies beside land of John le Riche and 1 a. abuts on land of the church in the South Field; ½ a. lies beside land of John le Swon; 1 a. lies in the same field at Selaley between land of John Thripoll on either side.

5. Mon. before May 1. Duplicate of Parcel A No.25. (The last name before the list of witnesses is Adam de Shelley, spelt “Chellay” in this copy.)

6. 1397-8 Agreement between John de Redenesse and William Constable of the one part, and Thomas de Walton cleric, tenant of the manor of Tharlesthorp, of the other, concerning a “traversia” (transfer?) of services of the said manor which they required of him, viz. fealty, suit of court “de t’bz in tres” and one been-service in autumn, according to the ancient custom of the manor of Barleburgh, and service (al. rent) of 6/- per year. Thomas agrees to pay these; and did fealty on Trinity Sunday, and made his first payment of rent on Mar. 25; in the presence of Nicholas de Goussill knight, Henry de Scherley, parson of the church of Barleburgh, William Mariorie, William Law, Roger So (mar?), and other tenants of Barleburgh and Cloun. Dated at Barleburgh.

7. Sun. Sept. 10 1402 Grant from John de Gouxhill, lately Rector of the church of Hallseham and Stephen de la Chaumbr’ to John de Redenesse of Catfosse, for his lifetime, of all their lands, rents and services in the vills of Barleburgh, Whitwell, Hudcroft and Begthtonfeld, with wood there, and services of free tenants and bondmen; which they hold by grant and feoffment of the said John. After his death, to remain to John’s son William and Elizabeth his wife.
Wit. – Nicholas de Gouxhyll, Ralph de Frechevyll, knights; Henry de Schorlay parson of the church of Barleburgh, Peter son of Egidius of the same, Thomas de Hottehowe.

8. Nov. 8 1485 Grant from John Constable Gent. of Catfosse in Holdernes to William Meleton Cleric, William Constable Esq, James Charleton Esq, and Robert Billap of Wodhall in Holdernes, of 4 messuages with 4 crofts adjacent and a cottage with a croft adjacent in the vill and territory of Barleburgh; also 2 messuages and 2 crofts in the vill and territory of Clowne beside Barleburgh. With power of attorney to William Tayllor his servant to grant seisin.
Wit. – Nicholas Gowsell Esq., Richard de le Hey yeoman, Thomas Carr and William Carr, husbandmen, Robert Paryshe, husbandman, all of Barleburgh.

9. Sept. 28 1500 Grant from Stephen Hatfeld Esq. of Catfosse to John Hatfeld Esq of Hatfeld and Thomas Dayvell, son of Brian Dayvell Esq, deceased, late of Bylton, of all his lands, rents and services in the vills and territories of Rednes in Marsshland and Sylstorn in Holdernes, and in the vill and territory of Barlburgh. With power of attorney to Robert Loromer and William Monton to grant seisin.

10. Oct. 31 1505 Grant from Thomas Constable Gent of Catfosse in Holdernes to Richard Dykson chaplain and Richard del Hay in Derby., yeoman, of all his lands, rents and services, with coal-pits, in Barburgh, Whytwell, Clown, Thrallesthorpe and Romwell, which he inherited on the death of his father John constable. To the intent that the said Richard and Richard shall re-enfeoff the said Thomas, and Margery his wife, of the said lands etc. With power of attorney to William Taylor and Ralph Northus to grant seisin.

11. Nov. 30 1505 Re-enfeoffment from Dykson and Hay to Constable and wife of property as above.
