Description1. May 12 1572 Bond in £12 from Peter Edeson yeoman of Berlesbrough to Francis Rodes Esq. of Staveley Wudthorpe to observe terms of deed of even date by which he leased to Sir Francis for 21 years a close called Longe Close in the lordship of Barlebrough.

2. Sept. 1 1600 Power of Attorney from John Fanshawe son and heir-apparent of Robert Fanshawe of Fanshawegate, to Richard Alvey gent. of Baslowe, to receive seisin in his name of the rectory, parish church and advowson of Elmton, with land and pasture in Markeland, which were leased to him by his father by deed dated Jul. 28, 1600.

3. Statements in case of Sir Francis Rodes and Francis Poole v.Francis Ludlam and Francis Sikes concerning trespass in a close in Barlborough called Spinkhill Moor. (Contains information regarding coal mining there in Commonwealth times.)

4. Feb. 23 1688 Orders to parties concerned in the case of William Thorogood and others, plaintiffs, v. Dame Martha Rodes, Andrew Clayton and John Thornhagh.

5. 17th Cent. Bill to Sir Francis Rodes for jewellery, including amethyst buckles

6. 17th Cent. Petition from inhabitants of Worksop (34 signatures) to Sir Francis Rodes, that they may recommend a person for appointment by him as vicar.

7. Oct. 11 Agreement between John Rodes and John Turner, that on or before Mar. 25. 1722, Rodes shall execute a lease to Turner of a certain messuage and closes in Creswell (field names given.)
