18. Mar. 6 1492 Will of Joan Lassels, widow of Ralph Lasselle of Styrton. Her body to be buried in the Church of St. Peter, Styrton. Legacies to the Guild of St. Mary of Styrton; and to the priest to celebrate mass at the altar of the Virgin Mary there. Also to her children Richard, John, Mary, Catherine and Joan. (Another daughter, Elizabeth, is mentioned.) Legacies consist mainly of lands in the vill and fields of Styrton, clothes, farm animals and furniture. Executor – her son Richard. Richard Toplyff Esq. and John Toplyff, parson are made “supervisors”. Wit. – John Rychardson, William Fenton, John Phylyp.
