Annual rent 8 marks. With housebote and haybote, and right to hew timber for building and to sell wood grown there. He agrees not to grant any part to anyone without approval of the lessees, except to Godfrey Fulgyam knight of Walton.
18. Apr. 20 1551 Sale from John Selicke Esq. of Hassilbarrowe in the parish of W. Norton, Derbyshire, to Robert Saunderson Esq., of Sandebecke, Yorks. and Francis Hewett of Wales, of his manor or house of Barleburghe, and all his lands, rents and services in the vill and fields of Barleburghe, and in Whittwell, Clowne and Horstrappe or elsewhere in Derbys. Wit. – George Harreson, William Hancock, Richard Dolfyn, Thomas Belghe, Robert Spencer, Thomas Whithed, Charles Bennett. Endorsed – “This writing is cancelled.” (This must have been later, as the deed bears the signature of John Selyek.)

Arbitration by Franneys Rodes, Sergeant-at-Law, in a dispute between Thomas Barton tanner of Woodsetts Dale, Derbys., and William Western Jun., hardwareman of Brinsforthe, Yorks., concerning a messuage and lands in Catcliffe, lately the inheritance of Nicholas Capil (or –ol) – wood. Who say that the western part of lands in the parish of Blyth called Northland and Southland, parcel of the former priory of Blyth, contains 20 a. of wood, of which 10 are valued 33/4d per acre and 10/30 per acre, and underwood 13d. And that George Lassells has not yet taken away any part of this. And that woods on the western part of a piece of land called Stodborowhead, parcel of the former monastery of Wyrkesoppe, are worth £24, and the underwood 10/-.
