Description1. Dec. 20 1583 Agreement of Franccis Rodes with Elizabeth Benson widow of Hugill Westmorland, John Manners Esq. of Holmesley, Yorks., Andrew Charleton Esq. of Apley, Salop. and Richard Crosbie, to convey to the last three, as entitlement on his wife Marie, the manor of Greate Houghton and an animal rent of £6/3/3 issuing out of lands of Thomas Normevile Gent. in Billingley. Next in succession, their 1st, 2nd and 3rd sons Godfraye, Robert and Franncis; Franccis, second son of Franncis Senior by his first wife Elizabeth, and Peter their third son. Wit. – John and Anne Bassett, Peter (Rodes?), Thomas Anderson, Raffe Jackson, Edwarde Burghley, George Mirfin, Jeffrey Watson, John Buckley, Thomas Bower, John Wodd, William Wood.
