June 10 1592 Agreement between Bryan Lasselle Esq. of Gaytford and Christofer Wandesford Esq. of Hipwell, Yorks., for the conveyance from Lasselle to Thomas Lasselle of Walbron, Christofer himself, and Francis Wandesford Gent. of Grayes Inne, John Bassett Esq. of Fledbroough, John Flackett Esq. of Hannston, Derbys. And George Cressy Gent. of Thorpsalvinge, Yorks. (as settlement on the marriage of Geo. Lasselle, son of Brian and elen, daughter of Christofer) of the Manors of Sturton and Gaitford, with messuages and lands in Sturton, Littlebrough, Fenton, Wheateley, Claworth, Wieston, Gaitford, Wirkswop, Kylton, Carlton and Shiroke; also the chief mansion house in Surton with closes called Bricklyne Close, Little Bricklyne Close, Stacke Close, Great Intacke Close, the ploughed Intacke Close, Breast Furlonge Close, Goore Willow Close, Brigges Close, 40 a. of meadow, 4 a. of wood to be taken yearly in the Hall wood in Sturton, and a windmill. 2. As 1. Bond in £2000 from Lasselle to Wandesford to observe above covenant.
3. Nov. 28 1595 Letters Patent of Queen Elizabeth I, being an exemplification of a Recovery of the Manor of Gaytford with appurtenances.
4. May 30 1616 Sale from Sir George Lasselle to Edward Hopkinson, for the suffering of a Common Recovery, of the Manor of Gaytford.
