Description
1. Ca. 1677 Bill of complaint from W. thorowgood and Bridgett Worseley, creditors of Sir F. Rodes, to the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal (50 pages) alleging that Dame Martha Rodes and others are conspiring to avoid payment of debts.
2. Ca. 1677 Answer of Dame M. Rodes and Andrew Clayton to above bill (18 pages). Contains much detail regarding Rodes property.
3. Apr. 6 1654 Case of Sir D. F. Rodes (by his guardian Clifton Rodes) plaintiff v. Alane Lockhart and Lady Elizabeth Rodes. Dispositions of witnesses for the plaintiff, taken at Plessley.
4. Nov. 3 1693 Sale from Lord Byron and Andrew Clayton to Sir John Rodes (in trust for the payment of marriage portion of Francis, wife of Gilbert Heathcote) of messuages and lands in Gateford and Shireoakes. List of debts of Sir P. Rodes attached.
