Description
Papers re. Colonel Herbert Brooke-Taylor's position as Chief Recruiting Officer for Derbyshire, from September 1914. The recruitment campaign was centred on Buxton, where soldiers were also quartered. In time a series of recruiting agents and medical officers was instituted throughout North Derbyshire. Colonel Brooke-Taylor was later detailed to undertake the compilation of a Military Register for the 45th recruiting Area, consisting of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Available on CD, CD315
