Shardlow Hospital (1948-2005)
Administrative History
Shardlow Hospital was originally the workhouse for Shardlow Poor Law Union, administered by the Board of Guardians from 1834 to 1933 when the Public Assistance Committee took over. From 1948 the National Health Service ran the hospital.
Custodial History
This item was given to the Record Office by a private individual in February 1999.
