Archive Creator	Staveley Urban District Council
Administrative History	Staveley Urban District Council was established under the provisions of the County of Derby Review Order, 1935. Prior to 1935 Staveley was governed by a parish council. In 1974 Staveley UDC was abolished, being absorbed into the Borough of Chesterfield.
Custodial History	These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in a number of consignments and were originally accessioned as part of D458 (staveley Parish Council) and D1504 (Chesterfield Borough Council). Reaccessioned 1999. The general ledgers 1935-1956 were deposited by Chesterfield Borough Council in January 2019 and those for 1957-1963 were deposited by Chesterfield Museum in October 2020.
