Staveley Urban District Council
Administrative History
Staveley Urban District Council was established under the provisions of the County of Derby Review Order, 1935. Prior to 1935 Staveley was governed by a parish council. In 1974 Staveley UDC was abolished, being absorbed into the Borough of Chesterfield.
Custodial History
These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in a number of consignments and were originally accessioned as part of D458 (staveley Parish Council) and D1504 (Chesterfield Borough Council). Reaccessioned 1999.
The general ledgers 1935-1956 were deposited by Chesterfield Borough Council in January 2019 and those for 1957-1963 were deposited by Chesterfield Museum in October 2020.
