| Administrative History | The Derby Afro-Caribbean Council of Churches (DACCC) was formed in 1985, as a means of involving black-led churches in community issues. The Council contributed to a number of projects in the areas of education, employment and welfare rights. It also ran a luncheon club for older people and established police/probation workers to create a better understanding between these services and the Afro-Caribbean community. The diocese of Derby was not represented in the Council’s management structures, but DACCC was a recipient of assistance from the Church Urban Fund, via the FCC. These records were accumulated by the FCC over the course of the funding period. |
