| Administrative History | Derby Council for Voluntary Service (originally known as the Derby Council of Social Service) was initiated by the former County Borough of Derby in 1972, and became a registered charity in 1974. Its aims were to bring together representatives of statutory and voluntary bodies (including the CSR) in order to share information and promote services, particularly for “the relief of poverty, distress and sickness”. The Council was reconstituted as Derby CVS Limited in 1995, and remains a registered charity (as of May 2008). |
