Administrative History
By the Local Government Act of 1894 parish councils were established to perform the residuary civil duties which had previously been undertaken by Anglican church vestries. The areas of activity included street lighting, recreation grounds, footpaths, village halls and civic celebrations.
Custodial History
These records were deposited by the Parish Council in November 1998. Several items in this collection were previously represented as photocopies accessioned as D1036. The original items and photocopies of items for which originals are not deposited are all listed as part of D4461 which supersedes D1036.
