Administrative History
Stretton's brewery was founded in 1867 when brothers Henry Stretton (1841-1910), Frank Stretton (1843-1915) and Benjamin Stretton (1844-1911) bought John Porter’s brewery on Ashbourne Road, Derby. In 1890 the business was incorporated as a limited company. In 1903 the company acquired Alton's Brewery Company. By 1929 the brewery had been acquired by Samuel Allsop and Sons. It was closed in 1929 and sold to soft drinks manufacturer Burrows Sturgess and Severn.
