| Administrative History | By the Local Government Act of 1894 parish councils were established to perform the residuary civil duties previously undertaken by Anglican church vestries. Very small parishes, however, established a parish meeting with lesser powers than parish councils. Snelston set up a parish meeting in December 1894. |
