Administrative History
The Manor of Pleasley passed from the Curzon family to the Thornhill family in 1742. It remained with the Thornhills until 1824, when it passed to the Nightingale family. Through the marriage of Frances Parthenope Nightingale as second wife to Sir Harry Verney, Pleasley Manor passed on her death in 1890 to her stepson Frederick William Verney (1846-1913) and from him, onto Sir Ralph Verney (died 1959).
Custodial History
The deeds of the manor were deposited in the Derbyshire Record Office in June 1998. Added to the catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project by Vicky Kerrigan.
