| Title | Settlement made by Thomas Slack of Chunall, Glossop, yeoman, of half of Slack Hall at Bowden Edge, Chapel en le Frith, formerly the inheritance of John Lingard, then of his son David, then of Benjamin Bangs of Stockport of whom Slack purchased the premises on 22 Jun 1726, with lands etc, settled to the uses of Slack's marriage settlement. Reciting as follows: that the marriage settlement of Thomas and of Anne Waterhouse of Martinside, Chapel en le Frith had included a settlement of her estate at Phoside near Hayfield called Cloughhouses or Phoside and at Bowdenhead and Rushop, but that Slack might sell these properties so long as he purchased others of at least equal value and conveyed them to the uses of the marriage settlement; that the Phoside property had been sold |
