Administrative History | Ticknall Parish Council came into being in December 1894 under the provisions of the Local Government Act (1894). This established parish councils to perform some of the civil duties formerly undertaken by Anglican church vestries. These areas of activity included street lighting, allotments, recreation grounds, footpaths, war memorials, village halls, public seating, burial grounds and civic celebrations. |
