Administrative History | Netherseal and Overseal were transferred to Derbyshire from Leicestershire in 1897, at the same time as Measham was transferred from Derbyshire to Leicestershire. Hartshorne and Measham was a newly-created Rural District Council in 1897 including Calke, Hartshorne, Snisby and Ticknall. Hartshorne and Seals Rural District Council included the Derbyshire parishes covered by Ashby-de-la- Zouch Poor Law Union. The RDC was responsible for sewerage and water supply, street cleaning and highway maintenance. |
