Administrative HistorySir Charles Asgill, 1st baronet (1714-1788) was a merchant banker of London. He married his second wife Sarah Theresa Pratviel, the daughter of a wealthy French Hugenot emigre in 1755. The couple had one son, Sir Charles Asgill, 2nd baronet (17-1823) and five daughters, one of which, Amelia Angelina (1757-1825), married Robert Colvile in 1786.
