Administrative History
The Dwellings Committee was appointed by the Sanitary Committee to the Sanitary Authority to look into the alleged scarcity of dwellings and overcrowding in the Borough, with relation to the Artisans' and Labourers' Dwellings Improvement Act 1875. The Committee eventually recommended that no further steps with respect to improvement schemes were needed.
