| Administrative History | The Junior School was originally built in 1847 and was known as Woodville National School. It was a mixed school catering for ages up to 14 (with the infants having their own headmaster) until 1933. In that year, as part of the reorganisation of education in Woodville, it became a junior school catering for ages 7-11. It was a Church of England Voluntary Aided School until 1953, when it became a Voluntary Controlled School.
Together with the records of the Junior School, the records of other schools in Woodville were deposited. A Wesleyan Day School was set up in 1866. In c1903 it became a Council School run by the County Council. It originally catered for all ages, with infant, junior, mixed and secondary departments. With the reorganisation of education in Woodville in 1933, the juniors were sent to the CE School, which was separated from the Council Infant and Secondary Schools. The Secondary School was closed in 1965 following the building of Pingle School. In 2014, Woodville Junior School entered into federation with the Infants School, as Woodville Schools Federation. |
