Administrative History	Originally part of the parish of Castleton, Edale acquired a chapel in 1633 which was consecrated in 1634. This chapel was replaced in 1812. Edale became a separate parish in 1863 and a new church was built in 1886, with the tower and spire completed in 1889. The old church was demolished.
Custodial History	These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in April 1994.
