Administrative History
Originally part of the parish of Castleton, Edale acquired a chapel in 1633 which was consecrated in 1634. This chapel was replaced in 1812. Edale became a separate parish in 1863 and a new church was built in 1886, with the tower and spire completed in 1889. The old church was demolished.

These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in April 1994.
