Administrative History
The first chapel was built in 1796 on land of Ralph Penistone. It underwent major repairs and restoration in 1928. In 1978, the decision was made to sell and move to a renovated and extended schoolroom, which was originally erected in 1822. The chapel was originally in the Bakewell Wesleyan Circuit before becoming part of the North Derbyshire Mission in 1905 and then the Peak Methodist Circuit in 1944.
Custodial History
These records were deposited by the Peak Methodist Circuit at various dates between August 1979 and May 2015, and May 2022. The photograph of the old schoolhouse was deposited in May 2010, and re-accessioned from D1877 in June 2010.
