| Administrative History | Mellor was originally a chapelry of the parish of Glossop, including the township of Ludworth. Part of Mellor chapelry was added to the new parish of New Mills in 1831. Mellor became a separate parish in 1859. Although transferred to Cheshire in 1935, it remains in the diocese of Derby. |
