Administrative History | Glossop Dale New Industrial Society was established in November 1866 with registered offices in Railway Street , Glossop and branches in Norfolk Square, High Street West (1877) and Whitfield (1882) . These included Grocery, Drapery, Boot Shoe and Clog and Coal Departments, and an Education Department with a Library at Norfolk Square. Hollingworth Industrial Society was established in 1860, registered in 1864 with branches at Hollingworth and Mottram and its own Educational Department. Hadfield Equitable Society had branches at Hadfield, Tintwistle, Woolley Bridge and Padfield . |
