Description
A valuation of the joint estate of William Turbutt and John Woodyeare esquires in the parishes of Shirland, Morton and North Wingfield, including Higham, Woolley Moor, Brackenfield and Stretton. Followed by an account of the common land allotted to Turbutt and Woodyeare's joint estate.
With plan and reference for allotments at front; scale 6 inches : 1 inch, size 40 × 31 cms
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
A Plan of the Severall Allotments made to W.Turbutt and J.Woodyeare Esqs. upon the Commons and Waste Grounds within the Manor of Shirland. County Derby [1768]. Scale: 6 chains to an inch [1:4800]. Size: 20 x 30 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK395596 Notes: compass rose, north at top. Plan stuck into the front of a volume entitled Ogston Rental: 40 acres centred on Mickley Farm: reference table with acreages. Location: DRO, D37 M/E1/1
