Administrative History	In 1884 Derbyshire was removed from the see of Lichfield and united with Nottinghamshire to form the new diocese of Southwell. These are records relating to Derbyshire generated by the diocesan administration of Southwell prior to and immediately after the creation of the separate diocese of the Derby in 1927.
Custodial History	These records were transferred from Nottinghamshire Archives office in November 1992.
