Administrative HistoryYoulgreave is one of the ancient parishes of Derbyshire. The church is dedicated to All Saints and is of Norman origin. The parish includes the townships of Gratton, Middleton-by-Youlgreave with Smerrill and Harthill (transferred from Bakewell c.1930). It formerly included the townships of Stanton-in-Peak (see D3645) and Birchover, (see D4698) both until 1876, and the parochial chapelries of Elton until 1866 (see D777), Winster until 1866 (see D776) and Rowtor.
