TitleCorrespondence between John Longsdon, the Honourable Colonel Robert Gray of Charlotte Town, Prince Edward Island and John Plane, Assistant Surveyor General of Charlotte Town, on the difficulty of taking seisin of a block of 500 acres in Prince Edward Island, assigned to James Longsdon, senior, as collateral security for a debt incurred by Mr Hope [of Liverpool], being part of a block of 1000 acres allocated by Mrs Burns to her daughter in consideration of natural love and affection but not formally conveyed, ending with the formal empowerment on 30 August 1814 by James Longsdon, senior, of Longstone, of Mr John Harrison of Leech and Harrison of Liverpool to dispose of the land on any tolerable terms, promising deeds and discussing steps taken by John in Prince Edward Island to regularise the title.
