| Description | Writer should have sent it ten days ago but did not like laying 1/6 Postage on it. David Longstone is the bearer. Note 17072 dated 29 July 1819. Business said to be improving a little there and in Liverpool but effect will be scarcely felt where distress is greatest. There are thousands of People who cannot earn beyond 2/- or 3/- a week so that one need not wonder at the spirit which pervades reform meetings. Expects to be at Longston mid next week on his way to London. |
