29 July 1819 - William Longsdon at Manchester to James Longsdon junior, Longstone enclosing £50 bank note which will about square their account with James.
Date
29 Jul 1819
Description
Writer should have sent it ten days ago but did not like laying 1/6 Postage on it.
David Longstone is the bearer. Note 17072 dated 29 July 1819.
Business said to be improving a little there and in Liverpool but effect will be scarcely felt where distress is greatest. There are thousands of People who cannot earn beyond 2/- or 3/- a week so that one need not wonder at the spirit which pervades reform meetings.
Expects to be at Longston mid next week on his way to London.
