The photographs bear the copyright stamp of the Derbyshire Times and are accompanied by a photocopy news cutting about the occasion, which includes this caption: "Headmaster Mr C L West and Mr and Mrs Eric Varley with some of the pupils". Eric Varley (1932-2008) was the Member of Parliament for Chesterfield.
