| Administrative History | Hope Valley College was established by Derbyshire Education Committee as a secondary school in a rural area where educational needs could be best met by the grouping of facilities. Accommodation was initially required for 300 pupils of secondary year age, with provision for expansion and rooms for young people and adults. The building was first occupied in 1958. On 1 Sep 2011, the school ceased to exist and was replaced by an academy of the same name. In 2019, Hope Valley College became a new academy within the Chorus Education Trust. For 2011 academy conversion agreement, see DCC/LG/CA/159/40. |
| Custodial History | This collection comprises a single accession, deposited in Derbyshire Record Office on 01 January 1991. Ownership passed to Derbyshire County Council when the school ceased to exist. |
