Administrative History
Hope Valley College was established by Derbyshire Education Committee as a secondary school in a rural area where educational needs could be best met by the grouping of facilities. Accommodation was initially required for 300 pupils of secondary year age, with provision for expansion and rooms for young people and adults. The building was first occupied in 1958.
