Title
Order to stop proceeding with coal workings and sough to drainage in Beard Moor or Beard Common 27 June 2 [? Geo 1]. Recites that the plaintiffs William Hoskins and Jeremiah Hale esq and Sir Bernard Hale were seized in fee of Beard Moor in Bowden Middlecale (part of wastes and common in manor and forest of High Peak) that defendant John Shallcross esq began a sough or Watergate in the liberty of Ollersett adjoining Beard Moor and has driven it 300 yards under part of Beard Moor and has sunk 4 pits from which coal has been taken, that defendants William Carrington gent, William Bennett and John Motteram are tenants of the coal works and are working them (giving account of damage done). Other defendants are named and the paper is endorsed Wm Bennett [see also D1673Z/Z8-9]
