Copy of a decree made in the Duchy Court of Lancaster for the confirmation of certain copyholds within the Manors of Wirksworth, Bonsall, Brassington and Ireton Wood and their members in the County of Derby, 4 Jul 1620. The copy is in more than one hand, and appears to date from the 17th or 18th century. The text is either identical or similar to what may be found in Derbyshire Record Office documents D2253/4/1 and D258/41/9, and at the National Archives under reference DL5/28 (folio 368v-380v). Thomas Ince published a list of copyholders, extracted from this document, in the "Notes, Queries and Gleanings" section of The Reliquary, Vol 12 (1871-1872) pp125-126. There are also references to it in the following sources: Custom, Improvement and the Landscape in Early Modern Britain edited by Richard W.
