Administrative History
According to information provided by Lewanika's great-great granddaughter Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe in December 2016, the man seated on Lewanika's right is probably his Prime Minister, Ngambela Mokamba. The man seated on Lewanika's right is likely to be a Mosotho interpreter (who would translate between the Silozi and Sesotho languages).

The identities of the African subjects of this portrait were established with the help of
Ngambela Mokamba
A Musutu translator (name not known)
