Previously read: ... 3) William Gell and his heirs 4 messuages and 8 bovates of land in Hopton Carsington, Kniveton, and Winster The catalogue was amended after a customer pointed out that the name Gell does not feature in the document itself, and was not documented in Hopton as early as 1325. On inspection of the Historical Manuscripts Commission list produced before the deposit of the collection, there was no indication of a reference to Gell and some of the place names had not be recorded in the DRO list.
