Archive Creator	Longford Parish Council
Administrative History	By the Local Government Act 1894 parish councils were established to perform various civil duties previously undertaken by parish vestries. They deal with street lighting, allotments, recreation grounds, footpaths, war memorials, village halls, sometimes burial grounds etc. The first Council meeting was Feb 1895.
Custodial History	These records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office by the parish council in May 1998 and October 2004.
