TitleMemo of will proved 1802 of Mr Wilson of Besthorpe leaving household goods to wife, Elizabeth, for life, then to brother-in-law, William Brown of North Collingham, and cousin, Thomas Bartholomew of Langton, Lincs, grocers; estate at Girton to wife for life, then to cousin, Sarah, wife of Roberts in fee; copyhold house in Besthorpe, occupied by mother, to her for life, then to wife for life, then to Thomas Bartholomew in fee; copyhold messuage occupied by self and 2 other messuages to wife for life, then to Brown and Bartholomew on Trust; all copyhold property in Besthorpe and leasehold lands in Girton to Brown and Bartholomew on trust to sell with all other property left to them jointly and apply profits:
1. to discharge debts and mortgages;
2. interest on £200 to Bridget Buller, for life, then to Wilson's mother and wife for life, then outright in equal shares to Sarah Roberts and her children living at Wilson's death;
3. interest on residue invested in government, freehold, or copyhold securities, half to mother for life with reversion to wife for life, and half to wife for life, then capital to be divided: £100 each to children Thomas Bartholomew and children of John Green of Dowsby [Lincs], grazer, alive at Wilson's death; £250 each to nephews of late wife, Thomas Brown of Welbourn [?Lincs], and William Brown, son of executor; £50 to Dorothy Page, house keeper to Francis Brown of North Collingham; £100 to vicar, churchwardens and overseers of Besthorpe in trust for augmentation of schoolmaster's salary Executors: William Brown and Thomas Bartholomew.
