Administrative History	The 1831 general election was held primarily against the backdrop of political debate about electoral reform. The election took place between 28 April and 1 June, following efforts by the Prime Minister Earl Grey to introduce electoral reform in Parliament. Grey won the election and the Reform Act was passed the following year, commonly known as the Great Reform Act.
