Administrative HistoryReverend John Byron was invited to become Vicar of the 'Forrest Chapel' now known as Chapel-en-le-Frith parish church by the parishioners in 1745. He remained there until his death in 1790. A note in the parish register describes him as being 'one of the noblest works of God'. His father, John, also served here from 1717 - 1727 and his sister, Mary, married William Harker a School Teacher, their descendant James Harker married Ann Sampson.
