Administrative HistoryThe Darley Abbey Benevolent Burial Society, a contributory society which paid benefits for members funerals, was established in 1848. Membership was restricted to these who lived in Darley Abbey and who were employed at the cotton and paper mills there. The village was divided into four districts for the purpose of collection of contributions.
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in September 1984.
