Archive CreatorParish of Pentrich St Matthew
Administrative HistoryRecords of the parish of St Matthew, Pentrich, from 1621-1980. The parish originally included Waingroves, Ripley, Butterley, Greenwich, Hartshay and Marehay. In 1821 Ripley, with Butterley, Greenwich, Hartshay and Marehay became a chapelry, conducting baptisms and burials, but not licensed for marriages until 1855, when Ripley was created an independent parish.
