Archive Creator	Morton Primary School
Administrative History	The Parochial School at Morton was established in 1863 on land given by Edward Degge Sitwell and was rebuilt c1884-5. The Sitwell conveyance of 1860 and the School Managers' minutes 1898-1903 are in the Morton parish records collection held in Derbyshire Record Office (D886). Following an academy conversion agreement dated 28 February 2023 (see DCC/LG/CX/3908) Morton Primary School ceased to exist, being replaced by an academy.
Custodial History	These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in several accessions, dated as follows: 01 January 1984; 11 March 2003; 16 November 2017; 19 December 2017. Ownership passed to Derbyshire County Council when the school ceased to exist.
