Description
These records of the Gate Inn Death and Dividing Club, North Wingfield were deposited in the Record Office in July 1983. The account book was given to Mr Williams by the retiring secretary of the Club after the Club's dissolution in December 1982. The Club commenced sometime in 1922, following the lock-out of 1921 and its main function was to help provide a decent burial for its members and to "divide" the surplus at the end of each year.
